We took an afternoon trip to the Institute of Contemporary Art this afternoon, a small waterfront museum just a quick walk from Faneuil Hall. Our favorite piece in the gallery was this interactive work by Os Gemeos, Brazilian twin brothers making their first solo show appearance in the U.S. at the ICA. As soon as we entered the gallery and saw the keyboard surrounded by walls of speakers poised to start singing, we ran up to try and play. Unfortunately, we soon had a security guard by our side, telling us that the Os Musicos piano was reserved for guest musicians to use each Saturday. It was worth a shot at least!
Another piece that caught our eye was Hanging Fire, by artist Cornelia Parker. Made of just charcoal, wire, pins and needles, the work eerily swayed with any small amount of movement past it.
