First of all, every time we’ve referred to the Frist Center over the past week, we’ve called it The Frick—we’ll admit that we’ve been missing New York, just a little bit. Unfortunately, the museum didn’t allow any photography inside, but we’re happy to report back that it was worth the visit.
We weren’t familiar with Carrie Mae Weem’s work prior to our visit, but we ended up spending most of our time there checking out her exhibition, which will be available to view through early January. Of all of her work, we really loved the Kitchen Table Series, a sequence of black and white photographs capturing numerous experiences in a woman’s life. It’s certainly had us brainstorming about similar projects that we could start for the Class Trip!
